It's called a Beano stick on the hit reality show "Amish in the City",
voodoo stick, whammy diddle, whoopie stick, phooey stick, notched stick, propeller stick, hooey stick, lie detector, among other things - but it's a classic wooden folk toy - and we have 'em, and can teach you how to use 'em!
A notched stick is rubbed with a smaller stick to crank a propeller at the end - which is entertaining enough, but there's more - you can change the direction of the propeller in mid-spin
(indicating a lie, of course.)
